Poster guidelines

Please note, ACDTM25 is now in the past. This page is kept online as a record of the meeting.

Important note: The poster sessions will be held in a publically accessible space within the Museum. As such, you must not include graphic content (including nudity, dissected animals, or anything not suitable for children or public display). But otherwise, please be as creative as possible! There will be three cash poster prizes for the best overall poster presentations!

Size: We recommend that posters adhere to A0 dimensions (841mm x 1189mm) in portrait orientation. To fit the display panel, posters should not exceed the size of 900mm in width and 1500mm in height. Larger sizes cannot be accommodated.

Title: Your poster’s title should be prominently displayed along with the author list and institution on the poster.

Content: Ensure that all text is large enough to be legible from a distance of 1.5 meters. Keep your text concise and easy to read. Your poster’s message should be clear and self-explanatory. Focus on presenting enough data to support your conclusions or convey your main points. Minimize the use of raw data in favour of diagrams and photographs. If applicable, present your research methods simply and concisely. Utilize pictures, symbols, and colour to enhance comprehension. Figure legends are crucial and should be brief yet informative. When employing graphs, provide them with concise headings.

If appropriate, you must clearly disclose any financial support or conflicts of interest relating to the content of your poster.

If you will be discussing any unlabelled or investigational uses of pharmaceuticals or medical devices, please also include that information .

When presenting patient data and health information (including photos), all presenters must be compliant with informed consent regarding human subjects and all applicable HIPAA regulations.

Disclosure of gene names and sharing of research data is required so that findings can be replicated and other investigators with similar data can test your findings against their own.

Session Times: Two poster sessions will be held, on lunchtime Monday and lunchtime Tuesday of the meeting. The poster sessions will be 1.5hr in duration and you will be required to present at your poster during at least one of these sessions. Presenter allocations will be according to the final poster numbering published in the conference abstract book (emailed to attendees ~2 weeks before the event)

We prohibit attendees from taking photos, videos, or audio recordings of posters or presenters without their explicit consent.

Print & collect: Don’t want to travel with a bulky poster? Use Officeworks poster printing, located at The QV Centre at Russell Street, Melbourne, VIC 3000 a short walk from the conference venue. Please note that you should submit your poster at least 10 days before the meeting in case of problems, and to ensure that your poster is ready and in excellent condition for presentation. You can collect the poster on the Sunday before the meeting (hours: 9am-6pm Sun, 8am-9pm Mon).

We look forward to your engaging and informative poster presentations at the Australian Cell Cycle, DNA Repair, and Telomere Meeting!
